Geotechnical Engineering

Colorado Geoscience provides extensive and accredited Soil and Percolation Testing and Septic Design Services, of the highest quality, to Front Range and Mountain Communities
in Colorado.

Soil Testing

All soil testing is performed in general compliance with the American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM) standards and Colorado Association of Geotechnical Engineers (CAGE).

Our Standard Residential Soil Testing Consists of:
Drilling two test holes -
o one, 20’ deep with soil samples taken at depths of 4’, 9’ and 18’ 19’
o one, 25’ deep with soil samples taken at depths of 3’, 8’, 14’ and 24’
Testing EVERY in-situ sample to insure the integrity of our work and the
success of your project

Our Standard Commercial Soil Testing Consists of:
Drilling two to five test holes, 15’, to 30’ (dependent on the proposed building to be constructed, build site and customer requirements
Taking at least three samples per hole
Testing EVERY in-situ sample to insure the integrity of our work and the
success of your project

Limited Access Drilling:
Our limited access rigs can accommodate numerous conditions and are used when we face space constraints including narrow access, limited work area and overhead restrictions. Our portable rig is light and, can be dismantled and carried by hand. Call us if you find yourself in a tight spot.

Percolation Testing and Septic Design

Colorado Geoscience’s comprehensive Percolation Testing and Septic Design Services for Commercial and Residential Systems include:

  • Drip Irrigation Systems
  • Infiltrator Systems
  • Conventional Systems
  • Evapo-transpiration Systems
  • Pretreatment Systems
  • Our percolation testing and leach field design meet all County Health Department regulations for residential and commercial design specifications.

The Standard Testing and Observation Process Includes:

  • Drilling three to six test holes – dependent on County Health Department Regulations
  • A soil profile hole is required by all county regulations to verify suitable strata beneath the absorption bed
  • Provision of an observations for every septic design to ensure your system is installed correctly
  • Slope Stability Analysis and Geologic Hazard Studies

The Colorado Geoscience team has the experience and knowledge to provide comprehensive services for special projects that require additional study due to site-specific issues or extensive county requirements.

    Pavement Design

All parking lots, public and private streets are designed in accordance with American Association of State Highway & Transportation Officials (AASHTO), City and County requirements. We are also equipped to accommodate any additional project specific requirements.
